Welcome to the new “Senior Digest” Web site. Thanks for visiting, and we hope you will return frequently. We think the revamped is easier to navigate, and that it will improve as time passes.

A ton of thanks go out to Cheryl Phillips and Andria Palange for all of their hard work on the digital version of “Senior Digest.”

The August print and online editions are packed with editorial and advertising content that people age 50 and older can use. There are some interesting stories, including a Salute to Seniors’ piece about all the work Herci Marsden and her family have devoted to the State Ballet of Rhode Island; and a news feature on the safe haven program operated by the Saint Elizabeth Community.

In addition, Moe Rondeau writes about traveling to Central and South America; state Division of Elderly Affairs Director Catherine Taylor writes about the recently released Rhode Island State Plan for Alzheimer’s Disease and related Disorders; Rhode Island Long-Term Care Ombudsman Kathleen Heren addresses the importance of participating in clinical trials for research aimed at curing Alzheimer’s; and Alzheimer’s Association Rhode Island Chapter Director of Development Camilla Farrell encourages people to take part in the upcoming Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

There are more columns, stories and listings you shouldn’t miss. We hope you enjoy and visit us again to catch updates and improvements on our site and in our paper. Peace.
