Jack Craig to present ‘The Golden Age of Musicals’ at Wingate Residences on the East Side
PROVIDENCE—Wingate Residences on the East Side will welcome musician Jack Craig for a rousing musical program and class on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. Craig will present ‘The Golden Age of Musicals,’ featuring the history of composers such as Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and Rodgers and Hammerstein. Wingate book club to discuss ‘Jailbird’ 
PROVIDENCE—The book club at Wingate Residences on the East Side will discuss ‘Jailbird’ by Kurt Vonnegut on Monday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. This wry tale follows bumbling bureaucrat Walter F. Starbuck from Harvard to the Nixon White House to the penitentiary as Watergate’s least known co-conspirator. With dark humor, Vonnegut shines a light on the nature of power, politics and greed—a commentary on modern times.
The Wingate book club launched nine years ago and remains one of the community’s most popular programs; since its inception, the club has read more than 100 books.
