The Rhode Island Health Care Association has announced that Deborah M. Griffin, of Somerset, MA, has been elected to serve a two-year term as Chairperson of the Association’s Board of Directors.  RIHCA is a non-profit organization comprised of approximately three-quarters of Rhode Island’s residential skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers.  In her new post, Griffin and her fellow officers will support the Association in its efforts to ensure high quality short- and long-term residential nursing care and rehabilitation for Rhode Island’s elderly and infirm.

She began her career in health care administration as an assistant administrator at Cedar Crest Nursing Centre in 1990.  She moved on to administrator positions for Landmark Health Solutions/Bristol Nursing Home and St. George Group/St. Anne’s Hospital, before assuming her post at Hattie Ide Chaffee Home in 2003. Earlier this fall, she was chosen by her peers to be the recipient of the 2016 Rhode Island Health Care Association Administrator of the Year award. A licensed Nursing Home Administrator in both MA and R.I., Griffin is a graduate of Providence College.
