Taylor leaving as state director of elderly affairs to run for office

State Division of Elderly Affairs Director Catherine Taylor is stepping down to seek the Republican Party’s nomination for lieutenant governor. Her resignation is effective June 20, according to a statement e-mailed to Senior Digest this morning (Tuesday, June 10). Taylor contributes a monthly column to the newspaper.

“I am deeply grateful to have had the opportunity to serve my fellow citizens these past three and half years, leading the agency whose mission it is to preserve the independence and dignity of our state’s elders and adults with disabilities,” Taylor states.

“Once I separate from state service and launch my campaign .I look forward to sharing my ideas about how the Office of the Lieutenant Governor should contribute to the economic vitality of our state, and to earning the chance to be of service again in a few short months.”
